Nativity Altar Society  Nurturing Beauty for Worship

The Altar Society is a group of dedicated and devoted volunteers,  led by Carol Hoy who play a vital role in enhancing the environment of our beautiful and historic church, the sacred space of the church. Their primary responsibility is to arrange and place flowers within the church for regular worship services and special occasions.

For our volunteers it's not just a task - it's a gift. Their creative talents come alive as they arrange flowers, connecting the natural world with the spiritual realm. Serving on the Altar Society is deeply spiritual. It's an opportunity to express reverence and gratitude through the language of flowers. Each arrangement reflects the beauty of God's world, reminding worshippers of the divine presence.

Some of the duties and responsibilities include careful cleaning of the linens, ongoing maintenance and polishing of the silver, cleaning and replenishing the holy water fonts, weekly and seasonal flower arranging and decorating the sanctuary prior to Masses, maintaining the altar server albs, the up keep of the Nativity grotto outside, and addressing the many needs that arise during the changing seasons.  This group is dedicated to the quiet service to Our Lady and the community.

The Altar Society work is a labor of love - a way to give back to the community and contribute to the worship experience.  Their dedication enriches our spiritual lives, one petal at a time.

May these floral offerings continue to inspire and uplift all who gather in worship.
